Former US President Donald Trump acknowledged that Russian President Vladimir Putin made a “great deal” regarding the recent prisoner swap. At a campaign event in Atlanta, Georgia, Trump remarked.
“And by the way, I’d like to congratulate Vladimir Putin on making another great deal.”
Trump also expressed dissatisfaction with the circumstances of the prisoner swap, describing the deal as containing “terrible” mistakes made by the current US administration.
He had previously criticized President Joe Biden’s administration for making the deal and raised questions about its content and the possibility of “cash payments” to Russia.
The FSB reported that eight Russians detained and imprisoned in various NATO countries were returned to Russia. This included Vadim Sokolov (Krasikov), sentenced to life imprisonment in Germany, and Vladislav Klyushin, imprisoned in the United States.
Other returnees were Artem and Anna Dultsev, Pavel Rubtsov, Vadim Konoshchenko, Mikhail Mikushin, and Roman Seleznev.

These individuals were accused of collaborating with Russian intelligence agencies, but their guilt was not proven. They all pleaded not guilty during court hearings and while serving their sentences.
Upon their arrival in Russia, they were personally met at the airport by President Vladimir Putin, who stated that those involved in military service would be nominated for state awards.
