By decision of the Board of Directors of Arkhyz Management Company JSC, Andrey Burzak, former Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Stavropol Territory, has been appointed General Director of the Arkhyz ski resort in Karachay-Cherkessia. This was reported with reference to the press service of the company Interfax.
Back in 2008, Mr. Burzak served as head of the Stavropol Territorial Administration of the Federal Agency for the Management of Special Economic Zones, in particular, he supervised the project to develop the Grand Spa Yutsa special economic zone, which was never implemented. After the reorganization of the federal agency in 2009, he worked as the Minister of Economic Development of the Stavropol Territory, and served as Deputy Chairman of the Regional Government.
After he was dismissed in 2013 by the then acting head of Stavropol Vladimir Vladimirov, he headed the Interregional Directorate of the Ministry of Regional Development of the Russian Federation for the North Caucasian Federal District, and after its liquidation, he worked on the board of directors of the National Aerosol Cluster in Nevinnomyssk.
As previously reported in Kavkaz.RF JSC, Mountain Peaks LLC acquired shares in the Arkhyz management company and a shareholder agreement for the right to manage a ski resort in Karachay-Cherkessia during competitive bidding. The total purchase price of all shares will be RUB 29 billion.
Under the terms of the deal, within four years from the date of conclusion of the contract, Mountain Peaks will have to create at least 30 km of slopes in Arkhyz and a single ski area for three tourist villages Romantik, Lunnaya Polyana and Dukka. Within seven years, the number of accommodation places should increase to 8 thousand, in addition, it will be necessary to create at least 500 seats in catering facilities.
