
A former employee of the Kurgan State Traffic Inspectorate was found guilty and sentenced to a fine for attempting to bribe road inspectors. The information was published on the website of the Safakulevsky District Court.
“A former 50-year-old resident of the Safakulevsky district, <...> having worked in internal affairs bodies for 18 years, was convicted under an article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation that is uncharacteristic for pensioners of the Ministry of Internal Affairs – attempted bribery,” the judicial organization reports. A former employee of the Kurgan State Traffic Inspectorate received a fine of 50 thousand rubles as punishment.
A former inspector now living in another region came to visit relatives. At night, a drunk man and his brother went to buy alcohol. On the way, they were stopped by a traffic police squad and began to draw up a report for driving while drunk. Then the former employee offered money and asked to be released. Despite the warning, he increased his offer to 30 thousand. The incident was reported to the police department.
The court found the former inspector guilty and sentenced him to a fine. In addition, he was deprived of his driver’s license for 1.5 years.
Earlier, URA.RU reported that a woman driver who offered a bribe of 200 thousand to a traffic police inspector was sentenced to a fine. The punishment amounted to 1.5 million rubles.
