Russia will take into account the words of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky about NATO’s “preemptive” strikes on the territory of the Russian Federation when taking measures for nuclear deterrence and state security. This was stated by the deputy head of the Russian delegation at a meeting of the First Committee of the UN General Assembly Konstantin Vorontsov.
The diplomat recalled that Zelensky had previously announced the creation or use of nuclear weapons. Vorontsov called on the UN General Assembly delegates to listen to the Ukrainian leader’s past speeches.
“We will certainly monitor and take into account these statements by President Zelensky when taking the necessary measures to ensure nuclear deterrence and to ensure the security of Russia in accordance with the military doctrine of Russia, as well as with the fundamentals of nuclear deterrence policy,” he stressed.
Now Ukraine is “trying to get out” of the situation caused by Zelensky’s words. Moscow will closely monitor the reaction of the West to these statements, the diplomat added.
