On June 18 near Yekaterinburg at the recreation center “Ivolga” (village Kadnikovo, Sysert district) will be held the IX International Family Jazz Festival EverJazz. The program announced the performance of more than 200 musicians, among whom there will be many foreign artists. This was told by the organizers at a press conference dedicated to the festival.

“This year we have a wide geography, in addition to Cuba we also have Armenia, Kazakhstan, individual participants from Belarus, Georgia,” said Vsevolod Maukin, one of the organizers of the festival. He clarified that no problems with air traffic will affect the arrival of foreign artists.

Anastasia Pushina, the organizer, also said that a Cuban jazzman would be the headliner of the family jazz festival. “The headliner of this year is the Cuban Carlos Echavarria with his Jazz Park project, the band’s music combines bright Cuban rhythms with jazz, but the band’s sound is very different from what we are used to listening to,” Pushina said. She added that famous jazz artists at the festival will perform New Blood Big Band led by trombonist Sergey Dolzhenkov, Armenian sextet The Birds, two Kazakh bands AlJazz Big Band, Sergey Pronya Quartet & Vitaly Vladimirov & Iren Aravin and many others. In total, three large stages will be organized for performances.

Participants of the festival will be able to participate in various master classes. For example, master calligraphy, gouache painting, create flowers from sweets and compose fairy tales, paint wooden signs and gingerbread, and learn how to dance Lindy Hop, solo jazz and balboa.

For convenience, a transfer will be organized for festival guests. In the direction of the recreation center “Ivolga” he will depart from the Temple-on-the-Blood (from the side of Tolmacheva Street) at 12.30. Back to Yekaterinburg, the buses will depart from the base to the Botanicheskaya metro station at 23.00. The transfer is free, but pre-registration is required. Limited number of seats. The festival expects up to three thousand people who can enjoy jazz from 14.00 to 23.00.

Problems with air traffic arose after Western airlines began to cancel international flights due to anti-Russian sanctions. They were a response to the fact that on February 24 Russia launched a special operation on the territory of Ukraine. According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, its goal is the denazification and demilitarization of the country, as well as the exclusion of unnecessary victims among the civilian population, the destruction of military infrastructure facilities, equipment and weapons of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and national battalions with high-precision means.
