For the first time in history, Ozon posted net profit in the first quarter – Kommersant

The Russian marketplace Ozon in the first quarter increased its trading turnover by 71% compared to the same period in 2022, to 303 billion rubles. The company’s net profit for the first time amounted to 10.7 billion. In the first quarter of last year, the company’s loss amounted to 19 billion rubles.

According to reporting Ozon, for the first quarter of 2023, the company received a record adjusted EBITDA of 8 billion rubles. The company’s operating costs for the order have more than halved. Revenue grew by 47% compared to the first quarter of 2022, to RUB 93.25 billion.

Merchant sales increased 93% to 179.3 million orders. Their share in the turnover of the marketplace reached 79.5%. The number of active buyers on Ozon in the first quarter amounted to 37 million users compared to 28.7 million a year earlier.
