On September 24, forest fires with a total area of 221 hectares were recorded in the Sverdlovsk region. This was reported in the press service of the FBU “Avialesookhrana”.
“As of September 24, work was carried out in the Sverdlovsk region to actively extinguish 14 fires on forest lands. The area covered by the fire is 221 hectares,” the statement said.
In total, there were 36 forest fires on the territory of the Russian Federation in 14 regions covering an area of 491 hectares. 928 people, 238 pieces of equipment and nine aircraft took part in extinguishing the fires.
Earlier, URA.RU reported that a storm warning was announced in the Sverdlovsk region due to fires in forests. The fire danger is associated with the dry and warm weather prevailing in the region.
