On Tuesday, June 16, at the 85th year of life, the father of ex-president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko died. It is reported by LIGABiznesInform.
In Poroshenko’s party, “European Solidarity” stated that his father, Aleksey Ivanovich, was “a great man of labor, a grain grower, a public and political figure, and a hero of Ukraine.”
Alexey Poroshenko in 2006-2010 was a deputy of the Vinnitsa regional council from the center-right party Our Ukraine, in 2010 he was elected to the same regional council from the Unity party, in 2012 he participated in the elections to the Verkhovna Rada.
He received the title of Hero of Ukraine in 2009 for his services to the development of the agro-industrial complex and the introduction of modern technologies in agriculture.
According to Rambler, recently Poroshenko Jr. has become a defendant in several criminal cases brought in Ukraine. At the end of May, a case of treason and abuse of power was instituted, on June 10, the former president became a suspect in the case of “giving an illegal order, prompted the head of foreign intelligence to exceed his official powers.”
