FAS granted the application of Smart Service to buy KFC in Russia

The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) granted the petition of the Russian company Smart Service to buy the KFC business in Russia. This became known from the message of the department.

“The Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia satisfied the petition of Smart Service Ltd LLC to acquire the Russian business of KFC. As a result of the transaction, the acquirer will own 70 restaurants and become a franchisor for 1,058 partner restaurants,” the statement said.

After the conclusion of the agreement, all restaurants will change their name to Rostic’s.

Earlier it became known that the owner of KFC Yum! Brands intends to leave the Russian market and sell its business in the Russian Federation to Smart Service.
