Military contractors with a 10-year term of service want to be given the opportunity to receive free higher education. Such amendments to the draft law on the status of military personnel were proposed by the Ministry of Defense. The notification on the development of such a bill is published on the government portal of draft regulations.

According to the initiative, military personnel under a contract with a continuous service life of at least 10 years will be able to receive secondary vocational and higher education in state institutions at the expense of the budget.

We are talking about issuing state nominal educational certificates to the military, the training itself can take place both in full-time and in full correspondence form, follows from the announcement documents.

Earlier, the State Duma adopted a law providing additional housing guarantees to military contractors. We are talking about the provision of housing subsidies or residential premises at the chosen place of residence to military personnel who signed a contract for service before January 1, 1998.

Currently, they are provided with housing at the place of military service, and at the chosen place of residence – only upon dismissal from military service upon reaching the age limit for military service, for health reasons or in connection with organizational and staffing measures, with a total duration of service of 10 years. .
