The former president of the Ukrainian manufacturer Motor Sich, Vyacheslav Boguslaev, whom Kyiv suspects of treason, asked to be included in the list for an exchange with Russia. Boguslaev sent a corresponding letter to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak.
“Please add me to the list for an exchange with the Russian Federation”, Boguslaev said in a brief statement written in Russian.
His attorney’s cover letter states the filing date for the application is March 20, 2023.
Earlier, representatives of the Ukrainian authorities, in particular the head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasily Malyuk and advisor to the head of the president’s office Mikhail Podolyakdid not rule out that Boguslaev could be exchanged for Ukrainian soldiers captured by Russia.
On October 23, 2022, the Ukrainian special services charged 84-year-old Boguslaev with “collaborationism” and “working for Russia.” The Security Service of Ukraine published Boguslaev’s telephone conversations, which, in its opinion, prove that the head of the Motor Sich plant was negotiating the supply of engines for several types of combat helicopters, as well as other spare parts, to Russia.
