The request of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to the EU to stop issuing visas to Russians will lead to a split in the political association. Erkki Tuomioja, ex-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Finland, thinks so.
“When considering the issue of the visa regime for Russians, it is important for the European Union to come to a common position. Violation of unity will only play into the hands of Putin, ”he wrote on Twitter (the social network is blocked in the Russian Federation).
Earlier, Zelensky called on Western countries to ban all Russian citizens from entering their territories. According to him, Russians should “live in their own world until they change their philosophy.”
