European Parliament supports Georgia’s policy of isolating South Ossetians

The decision of the European Parliament on the non-recognition of Russian passports issued in the new regions of Russia, as well as in the Crimea and on the territory of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, completely contradicts all norms of international law, and is also a gross violation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This was stated by the Foreign Ministry of South Ossetia.

According to Tskhinval, this kind of provocation, casting serious doubt on the democratic nature of this organization.

“The European Union, created in its time to strengthen the unity of the peoples of Europe, today has become a tool for imposing double standards,” – said the Foreign Ministry.

The next unfriendly steps of European countries that openly support Georgia’s policy of international isolation of citizens of the Republic of South Ossetia will not be able to stop the progressive development of our state, the department stressed.

Despite the adopted restrictions, South Ossetia remains open to equal interaction with all democratic countries of the world, the RSO Foreign Ministry assured.
