The consulates of the countries of the European Union began to require Russian tourists to have medical insurance issued by foreign companies. It is reported by the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR).
Association experts note that German visa centers have also made changes to the rules for submitting documents. So, Russians are required to have confirmation of payment for booked accommodation. Medical insurance before the trip is allowed to be issued only in European companies. It is emphasized that the document should only be in English or German.
Certain restrictions were also introduced by the authorities of Slovenia. Now Russian citizens are issued only single-entry visas. At the same time, the presence of medical insurance of a foreign company remains a mandatory requirement.
Representatives of ATOR emphasize that the requirement for European insurance significantly complicates the process of obtaining a visa. This is due to the fact that Russian bank cards are not accepted abroad, therefore, to pay for the services of foreign companies, you need a bank card of another country.
