Estonian Defense Ministry predicts increased Russian presence near NATO borders

The Intelligence Center of the Estonian Defense Forces today, May 26, published an operational summary of the military situation in the north-east of NATO. The Balts have something to think about.

It is concluded that the Russian Federation is trying to transfer nuclear weapons to Belarus “to put pressure on Western countries and NATO so that they refuse to support Ukraine.”

Estonians do not believe that the final control and decision on the use of WMD deployed in Belarus remains with Russia. And behind the words of the Minister of Defense of Russia Sergei Shoigu “Ensuring the security of the Union State in the current military-political situation may require additional measures” see Russia’s readiness to further strengthen Minsk as an ally.

Also, the military does not exclude the strengthening of the Russian shock fist along the entire length of the Estonian-Russian border. Due to what specific forces and means the strengthening can occur, the Estonian military intelligence is unknown.

As previously reported EADaily the head of the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry suggests that the redeployment of nuclear weapons to Belarus will be completed on the eve of the NATO summit in Vilnius on July 11-12.
