Estonia proposes to introduce the eighth package of anti-Russian sanctions

After the meeting, the Cabinet of the Estonian government decided to make a formal proposal to the European Commission (EC) to introduce the eighth package of sanctions against Russia. This was reported on the website of the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs with reference to its head Urmas Reinsalu.

“Estonia’s desire is that, within the framework of the eighth sanctions package against Russia, in the areas of economy, energy and trade, additional individuals and legal entities will be expanded, and additional individuals and legal entities will be placed under restrictions,” – says in message.

In addition, the government cabinet insists on tightening restrictions on Russians wishing to visit European countries, and is working to achieve political consensus throughout the Schengen visa area.
