The Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation hands over 40 new complexes for processing ballots (KOIB or “electronic ballot boxes”) to the Perm Territorial Election Commission. The corresponding resolution, signed by the head of the Central Election Commission Ella Pamfilova, was published on the agency’s website.
“The Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation decides: to distribute the technical means of counting votes (KOIB-2017) to the election commissions of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation in accordance with the appendix. The election commissions of the regions should ensure the acceptance and subsequent storage of KOIB-2017 in accordance with the established requirements,” the resolution says.
Now in the Perm region there are about 260 “electronic ballot boxes”. As a rule, they are installed in the polling stations with the largest number of voters. Earlier, URA.RU reported that KOIBs were installed at the polling station where the elections were rigged.
