
Cairo, 26 April. The Fares power plant with a capacity of 500 MW will be built in Aswan Governorate in southern Egypt. It is reported by RT Arabic.
Governor Ashraf Attiya toldthat the project will provide about 2,000 jobs during the construction period. The implementation of the power plant is carried out jointly with one of the specialized Chinese companies.
The facility is located on an area of 10 thousand m2, its introduction into the unified national power grid is planned within 18 months, by September 2024. The Governor added that construction is carried out in accordance with international quality, safety and health standards to save the lives of citizens and workers.
Earlier, the Egyptian regulator ENRRA approved the construction of the third power unit of the El-Dabaa nuclear power plant, which is being created with the participation of the Russian state company Rosatom. Egypt expects the facility to reach full capacity by 2030.
