Donald Trump Republican candidate has been officially declared the winner of US presidential election by Congress.
On Monday lawmakers at Capitol Hill recognized Trump as next US president. Though Trump won the election held in November, this formal recognition follows tradition.

On January 20, during the swearing-in ceremony at Capitol Hill, Trump will officially return to power, marking his place in U.S. history.
US presidential election held on November 5 last year. In that election Republican Party secured a landslide victory defeating Democratic candidate Kamala Harris.

Monday was that official day. At Capitol Hill, lawmakers recognized Trump’s victory. Congress approved the Republican Party’s decisive win, affirming Donald Trump as the next U.S. president.
With this recognition, Trump and the Republican Party now have formal approval to form the government.
Interestingly in 2020 Trump lost to current President Joe Biden. But this time, after Trump’s victory, the Biden-Harris administration assured a peaceful transfer of power.
