Donald Trump newly elected President of the United States, has been found guilty in a financial fraud case. Court announced no punishment for him.
On Friday, New York Criminal Court Judge Juan Merchan issued a ruling stating that Trump would not face legal consequences, despite the previous verdict remaining unchanged. This makes Trump the first president in U.S. history with a criminal record.

On the same day, the U.S. House of Representatives re-elected Mike Johnson as Speaker. The day brought double good news for Trump: his Republican ally Johnson secured the Speaker position, and the court ruled that Trump would not face penalties in the fraud case.
Judge Merchan stated that Trump could take the oath as president without legal hurdles. Although a follow-up hearing for the case is set for the 10th, the judge noted that the matter is largely resolved.
In a dramatic session on Friday, the House of Representatives confirmed Mike Johnson as Speaker. Johnson, from the Republican majority, received 218 votes, while Democratic rival Hakeem Jeffries secured 215.

Initially three Republican lawmakers voted against Johnson, leading to a stalemate. As no candidate reached the required vote count in the first round, a second round was held.
The dissenting Republicans then shifted their support to Johnson, who was sworn in after the final vote count.
