US President Donald Trump appears to have reversed his stance on expelling Palestinians from Gaza following strong opposition from the Arab world. On Wednesday, Trump stated that no Palestinians would displaced from the region – CNN report.

Trump sparked widespread criticism by announcing plans to evict Gaza residents and turn war-torn area into a vacation resort. This controversial declaration faced fierce backlash from Arab nations and ordinary Palestinians alike. Many believe Trump’s shift came after realizing impracticality of such a move

Previously, Trump’s proposal to relocate Palestinians to Egypt, Jordan, or other third countries caused a global uproar. The situation escalated further when Trump shared an AI-generated video promoting a post-war Gaza resort, adding fuel to the controversy.
Despite Trump’s initial backing of Israel, Arab nations countered with their own Gaza reconstruction plan, which received support from the Arab League and key US allies in Europe.
“We’re moving them to a beautiful location where they have new homes, where they can live safely, where they’ll have doctors and medical and all of those things,” he said during a meeting with King Abdullah of Jordan last month. “And I think it’s going to be great.”

Following a meeting with Ireland’s Prime Minister, Trump told reporters, “No one is expelling Palestinians from Gaza,” signaling a complete reversal from his earlier position.
This shift has led to speculation that Arab pressure influenced Trump’s decision. Gaza residents believe the US President acknowledged the reality — that displacing Palestinians from their land is unfeasible.
“Trump realized the truth, which is why he declared that no one will remove Palestinians from Gaza,” said one resident. “He may have understood how deeply people tied to their homeland.”
