Deputy Speaker of the State Duma Tolstoy apologized for his daughter’s trip to the United States and his education received in France

State Duma Vice Speaker Pyotr Tolstoy (United Russia) responded to reproaches addressed to him for his daughter’s trip to the United States. He explained that she did not study there, but trained. Mr. Tolstoy called his daughter’s stay in America “his terrible sin” and apologized for it, as well as for the fact that he himself received a second higher education in France.

“She went on an internship from the school. They were taken away for two weeks … This is my terrible sin, ”said the Vice Speaker of the State Duma in an interview on the Life and Fate program on the Russia 1 channel on May 30 (quoted from “Vesti.ru”).

“She went to America, please forgive me. I myself received a second higher education in France. And for that I apologize,” said Pyotr Tolstoy. According to Mr. Tolstoy, when he heard reproaches in connection with the above, he felt “global guilt.”

In August 2022, the senator from the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug-Yugra Eduard Isakov (United Russia) apologized for his daughter. He called her a traitor because of her position on the special operation in Ukraine.
