Deputy Prime Minister Novak announced Russia’s plans to transfer payments for energy resources to national currencies

MOSCOW, 22 April — Russia will continue to transfer payments for energy resources to national currencies, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said in an interview with Pavel Zarubin, a fragment of which he published in Telegram channel.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, now China is paying in yuan for gas and partly for oil, payments are also being made in rubles.
“We will continue to improve these mutual settlements in national currencies,” Novak added.
According to the Central Bank, last year the share of the dollar and the euro in payments for Russian exports fell from 87 to 48 percent, falling below 50 percent for the first time since 2013. At the same time, the share of the ruble and yuan increased significantly, to 34 and 16 percent, respectively (in 2013, the Russian currency accounted for 10.2 percent, while the Chinese currency accounted for only 0.5 percent).
