Deputies will ask the regions to take care of their ombudsmen

The parliamentarians will call on the authorities of the regions to solve the problem with the lack of apparatuses of the regional commissioners for human rights. This was stated by the head of the State Duma Committee on the Development of Civil Society, Issues of Public and Religious Associations Olga Timofeeva at the press center of the Parliamentary Newspaper.

Earlier, parliamentarians drew attention to situations where regional ombudsmen do not have an office at all or it consists of two or three people. They are physically unable to process all incoming requests.

“And now, as a committee this week, we are appealing to all governors and heads of legislative assemblies of subjects where there is no apparatus for authorized representatives: “Please pay attention. This is your area of ​​responsibility,” Timofeeva stressed.

It is very important to solve this problem, since the commissioners must not only answer questions, but also quickly solve them, the deputy concluded.
