This comes after he already sat out the 2022 season due to a torn right ACL. The injury occurred during a non-contact seven-on-seven drill at practice, leaving Patrick visibly upset and in need of assistance to leave the field.

According to reports, Patrick threw his helmet and screamed in pain when the injury occurred. He was later carted off the field and had to use crutches to walk into the facility. Broncos coach Sean Payton confirmed that they suspect it to be a left Achilles injury, but the full extent will be confirmed after an MRI.

The fears of a torn Achilles were unfortunately confirmed, dealing a significant blow to Patrick and the Broncos. The wide receiver had already missed the entire 2022 season after tearing his right ACL during training camp. His return from that injury was short-lived, as he now faces a lengthy absence due to the Achilles injury in his left leg.

Patrick had been an integral part of the Broncos’ offense as their No. 3 receiver in the 2020 and 2021 seasons, amassing an impressive 104 catches for 1,476 yards and 11 touchdowns in 31 games. He had signed a lucrative three-year, $30 million contract extension in 2021, but injuries have prevented him from showcasing his talent and earning his keep.

While the Broncos do have solid depth at the receiver position, losing Patrick is undoubtedly a significant setback for the team.

The duo of Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton are set to be the top two wideouts, and they will be complemented by second-round pick Marvin Mims and former New Orleans Saints receiver Marquez Callaway. Despite the depth, Patrick’s experience and production will be sorely missed on the field.

Adding to the woes, the Broncos also had to waive wide receiver K.J. Hamler on Monday due to mild heart irritation. The team now faces challenges in reshaping their receiving corps and filling the void left by Patrick and Hamler.

For Tim Patrick, it’s another frustrating setback in his NFL career. The Broncos and their fans can only hope for a swift and successful recovery, allowing Patrick to return to the field and showcase his talents once again.
