Denmark and Germany do not rule out that gas leaks in the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines from Russia to Europe were the result of sabotage, and not a technical reason.

“It is hard to imagine that this is an accident. We cannot rule out sabotage,” said Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, answering a question about the causes of gas leaks in both gas pipelines from Russia to Europe.

In turn, a German security official said that the evidence points to a deliberate crime, and not to a technical problem.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said it was “premature” to talk about whether the gas leaks were linked to sabotage until the results of the investigation are published.

The German economy ministry said it was working with the Federal Network Agency to investigate three simultaneous gas leaks in the Baltic Sea from damaged Nord Stream pipelines.

As Ukrinform reported, the Swedish Maritime Authority (SMA) warned of two leaks on the Nord Stream 1 (Nord Stream-1) gas pipeline, owned by Russia, in the waters of Sweden and Denmark, the day before, a leak occurred in the neighboring Nord Stream 2 (Nord Stream-2) project. .
