The wait is over, Delhi is expected to get a new mayor on Wednesday. Due to the uproar, three proceedings of the Corporation House remained inconclusive, but after the order of the Supreme Court, the preparations for the mayoral election have now been completed. The Supreme Court had on February 17 ordered the issue of notice within 24 hours to fix the date for the election of the mayor, deputy mayor and six members of the standing committee. After this direction of the court, a proposal was sent by the Delhi government to LG VK Saxena to hold the first meeting of the house on February 22.
