The Supreme Court had on February 17 ordered the issue of notice within 24 hours to fix the date for the election of the mayor, deputy mayor and six members of the standing committee. After this direction of the court, a proposal was sent by the Delhi government to LG VK Saxena to hold the first meeting of the house on February 22.
