Delhi Liquor Policy Case ED Summoned Manish Sisodia PA Devendra Sharma

ED Summons Manish Sisodia PA: Enforcement Directorate’s remand of Aam Aadmi Party leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia, who was involved in the alleged Delhi Liquor Policy scam, has been extended. Now in this case, the Central Investigation Agency ED has also sent summons to his PA Devendra Sharma. He has to reach the ED headquarters on Saturday (March 18) for questioning.

According to sources, summons was sent to PA Sharma earlier also, but he had asked for time. Earlier, the CBI has also interrogated him.

CBI had inquired

AAP leader Sisodia’s PA Sharma is accused of having bought mobile phones at his own expense at the behest of Manish Sisodia. The CBI had questioned him about this two weeks back. In fact, the excise policy of Delhi in which CBI and ED are investigating the alleged scam, that policy has now been cancelled.

Sisodia, who was in charge of the excise department, was not mentioned as an accused in the charge sheet filed in the case on November 25 last year. According to officials, the CBI had not named Sisodia in the charge sheet as the central probe agency was probing against him and other suspects and accused.

The CBI alleged that the Delhi government’s excise policy for 2021-22 gave undue profit margins to wholesale dealers under the influence of a coterie of ‘South Lobby’ Hyderabad-based businessmen and politicians. The Aam Aadmi Party strongly denied this allegation and the policy was later cancelled.

After registering the FIR on August 17 last year, a CBI spokesperson had said after investigation, amendments in excise policy, undue favors to licensees, exemption/reduction in license fee, extension of L-1 license without approval, etc. Many irregularities were done.
