The death toll from the explosion in the Surmalu shopping center in Yerevan has increased to 14 people, RIA Novosti reports citing the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations.
“As a result of search and rescue operations, the bodies of 14 dead were found,” — quotes the Ministry of Emergency Situations agency.
The ministry clarified that the identity of the eight dead has not yet been established.
In addition, according to the agency, taking into account the 911 calls received by the rescue service, 18 people, including a Russian citizen and an Iranian citizen, can be considered missing.
As a result of the explosion in the shopping center, which occurred on August 14, according to the latest data, 62 people were injured. Earlier, the Yerevan City Hall clarified that a warehouse of pyrotechnic materials exploded in Surmalu.
