Almost all mobile programs collect information about the geolocation of users who, if hacked, end up with hackers. In this regard, in some cases, the location is better to hide. This was reported Agency “Prime” Valery Stepanov, head of the Competence Center for Information Security T1 Integration.

The specialist said that information about the location of the device is made up of data from cell towers, Wi-Fi connections, images and is stored in the “clouds” of programs. Because of this, hackers can figure out the user’s geolocation, financial position, and banks.

To protect the smartphone from data collection, Stepanov urged to limit the access of programs to geolocation information. Users can do this in the device settings.
