Cuba asks for international help to put out a fire at an oil storage facility


    Cuba, where more than 65 people were injured in a fire at an oil storage facility, has requested international assistance from friendly countries. As the administration of the President of the island announced on August 6, the help of countries with experience in the oil sector is required.

    The fire started the night before, on August 5, in the port city of Matanzas after lightning struck an oil tank containing about 25,000 cubic meters of fuel.

    Local media say that 52 people were taken to the Faustino Perez hospital, three of them are in critical condition.

    As reported IA REGNUMin Spain, a fire forced the evacuation of 700 tourists from the Ria de Ardoza campsite.
