Croatian Foreign Ministry summoned Russian ambassador to condemn referendums

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Croatia summoned the Russian Ambassador Andrey Nesterenko because of the referendums on joining the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions to the Russian Federation. The agency expressed “strong condemnation” to Moscow and called the referendums illegal.

“Ministry of State Secretary Andriy Metelko-Zgombich has summoned Russian Ambassador Andriy Nesterenko to express strong condemnation of the illegal annexation of the occupied territories of Ukraine and referendums,” the Foreign Ministry said on Twitter.

President Vladimir Putin signed agreements on the entry of the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions into Russia on September 30. The day before, on October 3, the State Duma ratified the treaties on new territories. The lower chamber also adopted laws on the entry into the Russian Federation of the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
