Chuvash Superman: A modest freestyle wrestling champion saved the life of a drowning man and kept silent about the feat

Chuvash freestyle wrestling champion Vladimir Kushkov rescued a drowning man on Afanasyevsky beach in Cheboksary. According to kp.ruthe athlete immediately realized that the man was drowning when he saw that he either goes under water with his hands up, then swims to the surface.

The incident happened about two weeks ago. The deputy of the Cheboksary City Assembly and the master of sports of the Russian Federation in freestyle wrestling Vladislav Grigoriev spoke about the heroic deed during a meeting with students of the fifth school of the Olympic reserve. So, Kushkov, at the time of the emergency, asked passers-by to call rescuers, and he himself rushed into the water, swam to the man and pulled him ashore. The athlete handed over the victim to the rescuers and left on his own business, without even naming a name.

“It is very important that Vladimir Alexandrovich is not a hero of American comics, but a simple person who lives nearby,” Grigoriev noticed.

Kushkov did not boast of his act, so the leadership of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the republic did not immediately find out about the feat. As a result, the man received a gratitude from the department. Speaking at a meeting with students of the Olympic Reserve School, the athlete urged teenagers not to give up sports, not to leave those in need in trouble and to be indifferent to what is happening around.
