Chinese private companies ready to invest in Afghan energy projects

“Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan” (IEA, self-name of the country by the Taliban*) is ready to develop investment projects in the field of coal-fired thermal power plants and solar energy. This was stated by the Minister of Energy and Water Resources of the IEA Abdul Latif Mansour at a meeting in Kabul with representatives of Chinese companies.

Chinese business representatives expressed their readiness to invest in energy production projects and requested assistance from the IEA government.

Minister Mansour welcomed their enthusiasm and said that conditions for investment and job creation would be provided. To speed up the investment process, it is necessary to sign an agreement between the two parties and with other relevant departments as soon as possible so that work can begin, he said.
