Chinese Foreign Ministry called criticism of the plan to resolve the conflict in Ukraine an attempt to denigrate China

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin believes that criticism of the Chinese plan to resolve the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine is an attempt to “denigrate China.”

“I think that the relevant persons are spreading some unfounded opinions in order to denigrate China,” Wang Wenbin replied to a request to comment on criticism of China’s plan to resolve the Russian-Ukrainian conflict (quoted by RIA Novosti).

China presented its plan to resolve the military conflict today, February 24. It consists of 12 items. Among other things, the plan calls for a ceasefire, peace talks, an end to unilateral sanctions, and stability in supply chains.

The US State Department was skeptical about the document. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, commenting on the plan, said that the alliance does not trust China. The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, promised to study the proposed plan, but taking into account China’s relations with Russia.
