In response to a remark by British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss about supporting the efforts of the Netherlands to criticize Beijing in connection with ensuring human rights, the Chinese Embassy in the UK called on the British not to interfere in China’s internal affairs. The corresponding statement is posted on the official website of the diplomatic mission.
The British side does not have the courage to admit that it itself has problems in the field of ensuring human rights. London ignores the criticism, but instead blames China. This is done to divert public attention, the embassy said.
An attempt by Western countries, including the Netherlands, to use the UN Human Rights Council to denigrate the PRC has not been successful. China is ready to demonstrate its achievements in the field of human rights, the diplomatic mission noted.

The mission clarified that Beijing will continue to adhere to its vision of the subject of human rights protection and be guided by its tasks in this work. Such an approach not only meets the interests of the Chinese people, but also finds understanding among a large part of the world community.
The Chinese side calls on London to refrain from using double standards in human rights matters. The UK should deal with problems in this area at home, and not use them as a pretext for interfering in the internal affairs of the PRC, the embassy stressed.
