Chinese C919 airliner makes first commercial flight – Kommersant

The Commercial Aviation Corporation of China (COMAC) C919 passenger airliner has completed its first commercial flight. Bloomberg. The aircraft operated flight MU9191 from Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport to Beijing Capital International Airport.

The plane took off at 10:32 local time (5:32 Moscow time). According to Bloomberg, there were 128 passengers on board. The aircraft is operated by China Eastern Airlines.

COMAC started developing its own airliner in 2007. C919 is the project of the first Chinese airliner, with a capacity of 150 to 190 seats. It was taken over by China Eastern Airlines on December 9, 2022. In the future, COMAC plans to sell at least 2,000 C919s.
