China will study Xi Jinping’s ideas about specific socialism in a new era

From April, by decision of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC Central Committee), the PRC will begin a party-wide campaign to study and implement Xi Jinping’s ideas of socialism with Chinese characteristics in a new era. This was announced today, March 31, by TASS with reference to the party newspaper Renmin Ribao.

According to the publication, the goal of the campaign is to further rally the 96 million CCP around its leader.

The newspaper notes that the decision to conduct an educational campaign was made at a meeting of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee on Thursday. It also discussed the requirements for the provision of personal information by officials. The meeting was chaired by General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee Xi Jinping.

As noted at the meeting, the campaign, which is supposed to involve primarily leaders at various levels, “is aimed at using the new theoretical provisions of the party to achieve unity in thought, will and action,” as well as to promote the “great fundamental spirit of the party.” The document emphasizes that the entire party must unite to build a modern socialist power in all respects and “contribute to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on all fronts.”

The meeting participants emphasized that the party needs to develop a deep understanding of “the decisive importance of establishing the key position of Comrade Xi Jinping in the CPC Central Committee and in the party as a whole”, “asserting the leading role of Xi Jinping’s ideas of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era.”

All party members are encouraged to study, understand and implement the guidelines formulated by the 20th CCP Congress and “apply the new development philosophy.” The CCP, the article notes, faces unprecedented challenges that require increased vigilance and determination.

The entire party in the course of the new ideological campaign “should rally more closely around the Central Committee of the CPC, the core of which is Comrade Xi Jinping,” the Politburo emphasized.

According to the newspaper, everything related to the requirement to provide personal information, it should serve as a tool for strict management and supervision of officials.

“Truthful provision of personal information to authorities is a political and organizational norm that officials must adhere to,” – notes the publication.

What punishments party functionaries who will not “voluntarily submit to organizational supervision” will be subjected to is not indicated in the material.
