China State Shipbuilding Corporation launched the third aircraft carrier. It was named “Fujian Ship of the Navy of the People’s Liberation Army of China”, reports China Central Television.
This is the first catapult-type aircraft carrier, completely designed and built in the country from scratch on its own. During the solemn ceremony, the military and the leaders of the ship cut the ribbon and also broke a bottle of champagne on the bow of the ship. The aircraft carrier was launched to the sound of the Chinese anthem. After that, mooring and sea trials will be carried out in a planned manner.
