Chernyshevskaya station in St. Petersburg will be closed until May 2024

Due to the reconstruction work, the Chernyshevskaya metro station on the first line of the St. Petersburg Metro will be closed on October 25, 2022, and will be opened in May 2024. This was reported on September 23 in the press service of the city committee for the development of transport infrastructure.

The station lobby will be closed to entry and exit. As part of the reconstruction, four new escalators will be installed instead of the three existing ones. This will increase the capacity of Chernyshevskaya, one of the busiest stations in the center of St. Petersburg.

Specialists will also restore the facades with the preservation of the front stained-glass window and replace the entrance doors to the lobby. The station will open after renovations in May 2024.

It should be noted that earlier the same work to replace escalators was carried out at the Tekhnologicheskiy Institut metro station.
