Chelyabinsk schoolchildren will be taught to fight on tanks

Chelyabinsk schoolchildren will be taught how to drive tanks. As Irina Gekht, First Deputy Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region, reported on social networks on March 14, training will begin in September, when the repair of the Avangard military center is completed.

“We’ll open it [центр] already in September: this year we plan to complete the renovation of the premises. We bought modern equipment, including six tank control simulators,” Gecht wrote in her telegram channel.

She noted that the opening of the center will increase the number of children undergoing training and military training. Classes for them will be taught by teachers of the regional center for additional education of children, the military, representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The opening of Avangard centers in Kopeisk and Magnitogorsk is scheduled for 2024, and work is underway to create a center in Troitsk.

“Their eyes [у детей] are on fire, and it is clear that they are interested in working with mentors. I think for them the phrase “there is such a profession – to defend the homeland” will not be some abstract quote, but one of the key life guidelines that guided our grandfathers and great-grandfathers, ”summed up the first deputy governor.

Earlier, with the participation of regional authorities, a field camp for mobilized and volunteers was set up in Chebarkul on the basis of the 90th Guards Tank Vitebsk-Novgorod Twice Red Banner Division. There, the military went through combat coordination before being sent to the NVO zone.
