The Deputy Chief Physician of the Samara Cardiological Dispensary told what rules should be followed in order to protect yourself from health-related troubles in hot weather.

In conversation with the publication the specialist noted that in the heat, the load on the cardiovascular system increases significantly. At risk at elevated air temperatures are people suffering from arterial hypertension, coronary heart disease, heart failure. The risks of myocardial infarction, the development of a hypertensive crisis, and a stroke increase.

The expert listed the necessary rules that should be followed in order to save yourself from unpleasant consequences. First of all, it is necessary to observe the regime of work and rest in the open space. Alternate the load for 35-40 minutes with pauses of 15-20 minutes. In the heat, you should go out only before 11:00 and after 16:00 and be sure to wear a hat.

You should drink at least one and a half to two liters of liquid per day: cool water, green tea, mint infusion. Adjust your diet. Do not eat fatty, hard to digest foods. Add to the menu vegetables and fruits rich in fiber, dairy products, nuts.

People with recent cardiovascular diseases should be especially careful. People with arterial hypertension need to control their blood pressure every day, even if they feel well, take prescribed medications.
