Russian oncologist Ivan Karasev in his Instagram told about the favorite food of patients who died of intestinal cancer.

According to him, scientists from the American Institute of Oncology Dana-Farber analyzed DNA samples of normal and tumor tissue from 900 patients with colorectal cancer. The study found alkylating mutation signatures in colon cells.

It clarifies that this cancer-causing DNA damage is associated with eating large amounts of red meat. The consumption of poultry or fish did not affect this indicator in any way, as well as other effects of any factors related to lifestyle.

Among other things, the study estimated that people with the highest levels of DNA damage had a 47 percent higher risk of dying from colorectal cancer.
