Russian special operation in Ukraine

The conflict in Ukraine could drag on for several years. This opinion was expressed by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson in an article for The Sunday Times.

“I’m afraid we need to prepare for a long conflict <…>. The UK and our friends must respond by providing Ukraine with the strategic resilience to survive the situation and win over time,” Boris Johnson said.

Earlier, the head of the DNR, Denis Pushilin, said he hoped to complete the special operation by the end of 2022. Retired Colonel of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Anatoly Matviychuk called the condition for the surrender of Ukraine. The Times newspaper reported that the inhabitants of Europe want the end of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, therefore they are asking Kyiv to give up part of the territories.

Russia has been conducting a special operation in Ukraine since February 24. According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, the goal is the liberation of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine. The authorities of the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics have already announced plans to join the Russian Federation. The Kremlin noted that the special operation will be completed when the tasks set are achieved.
