“Boston” beat “Washington” without Ovechkin and set an NHL record for points scored

The Boston Bruins beat the Washington Capitals 5-2 in the NHL regular season to break the league record for points scored.

Now the Bruins have 64 wins and 133 points in 81 games. The previous achievement belonged to Montreal, which in the 1976/77 season scored 132 points in 80 games.

It is worth noting that the defender of “Boston” Dmitry Orlov played for the first time against the former team. He landed four shots on target and blocked one opponent’s shot. Forward “Washington” Alexander Ovechkin again missed the game due to an upper body injury.

And the previous match, in which Ovechkin also did not play, “Washington” was able to win. The Capitals ended their six-game losing streak against the Islanders.
