Body of missing child found in river near Volgograd


A five-year-old boy who disappeared on Monday in the Volgograd region was found dead. Divers removed the body of a child from the Tishanka River, said today, August 9, the assistant to the head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Investigative Committee for the region, Daria Buyanova.

“During the search activities, divers discovered and removed the body of a boy from a reservoir. There are no signs of a criminal nature of death. In the near future, the investigators of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation will appoint a complex of examinations, during which the cause of death of the child will be established, among other things. According to preliminary data, the boy died as a result of drowning. The investigation is ongoing.” she explained.

Earlier, investigators opened a criminal case under paragraph “c” of Part 2 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder of a minor). The disappearance of a boy in the Medvedev farm of the Ilovlinsky district of the Volgograd region became known on Monday evening, the child went for a bike ride and did not return home.

A law enforcement source added that the family in which the boy was brought up is large. In addition, the child was disabled.
