US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced on social media platform X that he had a conversation with Ukraine’s new Foreign Minister, Andrei Sibiga.
“I spoke with Ukraine’s new Foreign Minister, Andrei Sibiga. He’s a long-standing partner, and I’m confident that we’ll continue the fruitful work and close cooperation begun by his predecessor. I look forward to meeting him in person in the coming weeks,” Blinken wrote on his page.
In turn, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrei Sibiga confirmed the fact of the conversation.
“We discussed ways to expedite military aid, implement a peace formula, and strengthen sanctions against Russia,” Sibiga wrote on social media platform X.
Earlier, Ukraine’s parliament supported Sibiga’s appointment as Foreign Minister, replacing dismissed Dmitry Kuleba.
On Thursday, Adalbi Shkhagoshev, a member of the State Duma’s Security Committee, told RIA Novosti that Ukraine’s newly appointed Foreign Minister, Andrei Sibiga, was urgently prepared by Washington for this post to tackle new tasks, and that he will fully demonstrate himself after the US presidential election.
