President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden will not attend Kamala Harris‘s official nomination as a US presidential candidate.
Instead, they plan to leave the Democratic Party convention after delivering their speeches on Monday, as reported by the White House press pool.
The Democratic convention, currently underway in Chicago, will feature separate speeches from both President Biden and the First Lady. Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband are expected to be present at both events.
However, the Bidens are scheduled to travel to California on the same day, meaning they will miss Harris’s official nomination as the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate.
