Court in The Hague issues arrest warrant for Putin
The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed the Minister of Justice of the Federal Republic of Germany, Marco Buschman, to give legal accountability. Thus, he reacted to the statement of the German minister about the arrest of Russian President Vladimir Putin in the event of his visit to Germany.
“Bastrykin instructed to give legal reporting to the Minister of Justice of Germany on the implementation of the order of the International Court of Justice to arrest Vladimir Putin in Germany,” the website of the RF IC reports. Earlier, the German justice minister said that he would arrest the Russian president if he visited Germany.
The International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague on March 17 issued an arrest warrant for Putin. At the same time, the jurisdiction of the ICC is not recognized in Russia. The Kremlin called such a decision outrageous. Earlier, The New York Times wrote that his visit to Mariupol responded to an arrest warrant.
