Several batches of dried plants, a type of beans, as well as cumin seeds (a condiment similar to cumin – approx. URA.RU), infected with parasites, were seized at the Surgut airport. They tried to import them from the territory of Tajikistan and Azerbaijan, according to the department of the federal service for veterinary and phytosanitary supervision in the Tyumen region, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
“In August 2022, at the international airport in the city of Surgut, 7 cases of import of regulated products with signs of infection with quarantine objects were detected. Products were imported in the luggage and hand luggage of passengers arriving from the republics of Tajikistan and Azerbaijan, ”the UFS website for veterinary supervision reports.
More than a kilogram of cumin seeds and more than 4 kilograms of beans infected with dangerous parasites were confiscated from the offenders. In order to prevent the importation of dangerous quarantine organisms from foreign countries, contaminated products are not allowed to be imported.
Earlier, URA.RU reported that an Anthurium plant, popularly known as “male happiness,” was burned at the Surgut airport. The plant was seized and burned in a special oven.
